The board provides independent, strategic direction for Green Adelaide, and is led by Emeritus Professor Chris Daniels to deliver environmental outcomes amidst urbanisation.
The call for nominations comes as Green Adelaide prepares to implement its 2026-2031 Regional Landscape Plan.
Presiding Member Emeritus Professor Daniels said the organisation is seeking experienced and emerging leaders who bring diverse skills, experience and passion for improving Adelaide’s natural environment, to help deliver the dynamic multi-year plan.
“We want a variety of perspectives on our board, which can look like expertise above and beyond environmental management, it could be knowledge on Aboriginal engagement, governance, community engagement, communication, planning, business, finance and risk management.
“Being on the board is a fantastic opportunity to be part of creating a more liveable city.
“Recent achievements, such as the reintroduction of native olive perchlets to metropolitan wetlands, ongoing restoration of the River Torrens / Karrawirra Pari, data-capture to understand Adelaide’s tree canopy, development of the Urban Greening Strategy, and expanding nature education and awareness programs, highlight the scale and impact of Green Adelaide’s work.
“As a board member, you’ll help bring community, industry and government together at the decision‑making table to support practical, long‑term environmental outcomes,” Professor Daniels said.
The Green Adelaide Board consists of up to 10 members. Applications close at 5pm on 20 March 2026.
