The Board welcomes Dr Helen Donovan and Dr Jake Robinson, bringing strong expertise across environmental stewardship, nature connection, governance and research. They join experienced members Melanie Ford, Natasha Davis and Tiahni Adamson, who together offer a powerful blend of deep environmental expertise, design-informed thinking, visionary leadership and culturally grounded experience.
Presiding Member Emeritus Professor Chris Daniels said the mix of new perspectives and existing experience would strengthen the Board’s work.
“We’re pleased to appoint Helen, Jake, Melanie, Natasha and Tiahni,” Professor Daniels said.
“These appointments bring a powerful mix of expertise across science, community engagement, design and environmental leadership, supporting Green Adelaide’s work for both people and nature.”
Dr Helen Donovan has built a career at the intersection of individual, community and environmental health. She has held senior leadership roles across government and the not-for-profit sector, including as Executive Director of Walking SA, and has contributed to environmental stewardship through her work with the City of Adelaide and the Department for Environment and Water.
Dr Jake Robinson brings a focus on how ecological and social systems interact to shape resilient futures, drawing on his background as a microbial ecologist. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at Flinders University and leads interdisciplinary research exploring the links between nature and human health.
Natasha Davis continues her contribution to the Board, bringing more than 30 years’ experience in the environmental sector. A former Chief Executive Officer of Trees For Life (2015–2025), she is passionate about the role of nature in supporting resilient environments and community wellbeing. She brings expertise in strategic partnerships, leadership, sustainability planning and environmental education.
Tiahni Adamson also continues, contributing strong leadership in climate action and community engagement. A Torres Strait Islander woman descended from the Kaurareg Nations of Thursday Island, and a Wildlife Conservation Biologist, Tiahni works across climate solutions, First Nations advocacy and environmental stewardship through her role with CH4 Global and her broader leadership work.
Melanie Ford also continues her contribution to the Board. With more than 30 years’ experience as an architect, she brings a strong passion for connecting built and natural environments, advocating for thoughtful design that supports and regenerates South Australia’s landscapes.
All appointments were made through a rigorous, merit-based process, recognising the strength and diversity of all applicants.
The Board also acknowledges the contribution of Sarah Sutter and Tobias Turner, who have completed their terms.
“On behalf of the Board, I thank Sarah and Tobias for their valuable dedication and service,” Professor Daniels said.
“Sarah brought important perspectives from across corporate and not-for-profit sectors, while Tobias contributed strong expertise, particularly in strengthening partnerships with Kaurna on large-scale projects.”
The five appointed board members terms commence on 1 July 2026, for three years. The Green Adelaide Board also includes ongoing terms for Presiding Member Emeritus Professor Chris Daniels, Adrian Skull, Dena Vassallo, Angela Evans and Craig Wilkins.
