2025 Sustainability in the Classroom and Beyond Educators Forum

Green Adelaide’s full day educator’s forum is back for its 2nd year in 2025, to once again provide school and preschool educators with in-depth talks and workshops on how to bring sustainability education to the classroom.

In the second week of the October, discover how educators have embraced the wonders of nature, empowered young leaders, and collaborated with their communities.

You will learn from other local and interstate educators leading interactive workshops and presentations packed full of practical actions for your classroom, school and preschool. Peruse the offering of incursions and learning resources from other key sustainability education organisations.

The event will be fully catered, and a professional development certificate will be provided at the end of the event.

Reflection from the 2024 Sustainability in the Classroom and Beyond Educators Forum

Highlights on last year forum.

Our 2024 educator's forum was a wonderful day that brought teachers from all over the state to the Adelaide Botanic High School for a jam-packed day of talks and exchanging ideas on how sustainability and nature can be embedded into the classroom. Here’s a snapshot of what the day entailed.

Key Speakers & Insights

  • Thea Stinear from education resource organisation Cool.org inspired attendees to teach critical environmental issues with hope and action.
  • Director of Learning at Wesley College, in Melbourne, Cameron Paterson emphasised adaptability, innovation, and the importance of student well-being and community engagement.
  • Harry, a member of the South Australian Youth Environment Council, shared how supportive teachers ignited his passion for the environment.
  • Natalie Jonas from the Department for Education introduced the Learn and Thrive curriculum, showcased opportunities for sustainability education and student empowerment.

  • A tour of the five-star green building at Adelaide Botanic High School offered inspiration and practical ideas.
