For young people

Youth environmental leaders program

Participating schools nominate four to eight students from years 5-8 who will be supported in decision making, planning and taking action through an environmental project of their choice.

Student leaders, with their support teacher attend events in terms 2, 3 and 4 with a cluster of schools from their region. Students showcase and celebrate their project with other participating schools at the end of the year.

Students receive mentoring support, expertise and resources from a Green Adelaide Education Officer in conjunction with their school support teacher or adult mentor.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, schools must:

  • have an existing environment and/or student voice group

  • provide consistent and ongoing teacher/adult mentor support for the duration of the school year.
