As heatwaves become more frequent and intense, understanding urban heat is essential for creating cooler, more resilient cities. This webinar explores how new satellite technology could change the way we monitor urban heat.
Current aerial thermal imagery methods can be expensive, infrequent, and difficult to compare over time, limiting their usefulness for ongoing monitoring. Emerging space-based approaches may be able to help overcome these challenges, providing more consistent, scalable, and timely insights across metropolitan Adelaide.
Delivered in partnership with Flinders University, SmartSat CRC and Green Adelaide, this session shares findings from a collaborative project investigating innovative approaches to mapping and monitoring urban heat from space.
What you’ll learn:
Ideal for planners, local government, health professionals, environmental practitioners, and anyone interested in climate adaptation and urban sustainability.
This session will be recorded and made available on the Green Adelaide YouTube channel.
